Pet Surgeries

The Process of Pet Surgeries at TLC Animal Hospital

At TLC Animal Hospital, we strive to provide comprehensive care to everyone who comes to see us. While we know that pet owners might not want to think about the prospect of their furry friend having to undergo surgery, we provide this service to those who need it. We are proud to be led by Dr. Vicki Dashley in El Paso, who is an experienced veterinarian and can perform multiple pet surgeries. Take a look at how we carry out pet surgeries in our office.

The Process of Pet Surgery

At TLC Animal Hospital, please know that we are only going to suggest surgery for your pet if he or she needs it. We will look at all other options first. If your pet does need surgery, there are a few reasons why this might be the case. These include:

  • Your pet has a broken bone that needs to be set properly so that it can heal
  • Your pet has a tumor that needs to be removed because it is pressing on organs and tissues
  • Your pet ingested something and it is stuck
  • your pet has a cyst or abscess that needs to be drained

On the day of the operation, we are going to take your pet to the operating room and use anesthesia to minimize discomfort. Then, we will complete the operation as quickly and safely as possible. We will keep you updated every step of the way. Then, we will take your pet to the recovery area where he or she can wake up in a happy and quiet area.
