March Special Offer: Take 15% Off Your Pet's Senior Blood Work

Here at TLC Animal Hospital in El Paso, TX, we care about your pets--no matter what their age. From a tiny newborn kitten to a gray-in-the-muzzle geriatric dog, we're here to help your furry friends live happier, healthier lives.

As our pets get older, they require special care. That's why we're running a special during March just for senior pets. We're taking 15% off all senior pet blood work.

Does My Pet Need Senior Pet Care?

How old is old? Many pet parents are surprised to find their animal friends are closer to approaching their golden years than they thought. Cats start to be considered elderly between the ages of seven and ten. For dogs, it really depends on their breed and size. Most veterinarians think of dogs as seniors when they're in the last 25 percent of their expected lifespan. This could be anywhere from six to eleven years old.

Just because your pet is a senior doesn't mean they don't have more years to spend with you. With the proper care, your senior pet can live a happy and healthy life with the time he or she has.

Why Does My Senior Pet Need Blood Work?

Blood work, coupled with an examination, can help your veterinarian discover potential health problems for your pet so they can be treated as soon as possible. Senior cats and dogs are usually tested for:

  • Thyroid function
  • Blood count
  • Kidney function
  • Protein
  • Glucose levels
  • Liver function

If your veterinarian detects a problem from your pet's blood work, we'll create a customized treatment plan for your pet.
